Juan Cardenas is a Mechanical Fire Protection Designer and Project Manager at Royal Fire Protection, where he supports the design and delivery of fire protection systems for residential, institutional and commercial projects. He is responsible for developing code-compliant fire protection designs in accordance with OBC and NFPA standards, preparing coordinated project packages, and producing detailed fabrication drawings and material reports to support efficient installation and construction.
With over six years of experience in the AEC industry, Juan brings strong expertise in fire protection system design, BIM coordination, and project execution. Prior to joining Royal Fire Protection, Juan worked as a Sprinkler Designer at Onyx Fire Protection Services, contributing to projects across residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors. His experience includes hydraulic calculations, shop drawing production, on-site flow testing, as-built documentation, and building permit submissions across multiple Canadian jurisdictions.
Juan holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, a Master of Science in Project Management, and postgraduate education in Building Information Modeling. Fluent in English and Spanish, he is committed to technical excellence, collaborative project delivery, and the development of safe, reliable fire protection systems. He is actively pursuing professional engineering licensure in Ontario.
